Beijing Metro Line 10 / Olympic Branch Line - China
Line 10 and the Olympic Branch are two key lines in Beijing’s Metro system serving the city’s 17 million residents.  The lines were added in anticipation of the 2008 Olympics to manage the increased traffic expected for the event.  With their addition and new track planned for completion by 2020, Beijing’s Metro line will become the longest subway system in the world: surpassing both the London Underground and the New York City Subway.

Both lines are equipped with pulz8 and Siemen’s advanced modular automatic train control system. Making it the first time ever that moving block ATC technology in combination with continuous bidirectional data transmission by WLAN radio are being used in Beijing's Metro network.

The solution provides automatic driving (ATO) for the trains and during the Games a dense headway of about 3 minutes was achieved as a result of the radio-based moving-block ATO operation.
