Guanghzou (formerly known as Canton) is the third largest city in China with 7 million inhabitants. It is the second city in China, after Shanghai, to add a light-rail system.

pulz8 working with Siemens has provided the line’s automatic control system (ATC)  and a passenger information system. Both lines are equipped with pulz8 and Siemen’s advanced modular automatic train control system.

The passenger information system being used at stations across the network includes displays showing the time to the next train, its destination, and calling points en route. In addition, it devises and implements the running timetable and train and staff rosters, and automatically ensures that all trains follow the correct route -- all via pulz8’s super broadband connection.
