Wireless connection to Olympic train line in Beijing

pulz8 Communication has signed a multi-million Euro contract to deliver its super broadband connection to metro systems in China. The deal calls for pulz8 to provide a train to track wireless communication system for Line 10 and Olympic Track in Beijing – the main passenger metro line to the city’s Olympic venues.

Copenhagen, Denmark - October 17, 2006 -

The system, installed in the metro’s trains and tunnels, will link up the entire network, providing a secure and reliable high-speed wireless data connection for security services and train control systems via a wireless connection. Counting Olympic fans and commuters, the train line expects to transport some 1.5 million people daily.

“Being chosen to provide the communications solution for a key train line in a city as busy as Beijing and an event as great as the Olympics confirms the strength and quality of our product.  Security and reliability for the train line as well as the games are paramount,” says Alexander Høgh Eriksen, pulz8, CEO.

Adding, “The implementation of our system for Line 10 is an extremely valuable reference case for future projects.

The two-year contract calls for pulz8 to develop and implement a wireless connection between the train and landside via WLAN to monitor the line’s Train Control System (TCS).

The company has previously delivered a similar solution to Line 4 and 5 in the city of Guangzhou, China.
